Our new Compressor! The latest addition to the Desert Divers family - a new compressor for the longer Camel Diving Safaris (3+ days). Our baby Bauer fills tanks with fresh air all day long. If you fancy making an extra dive, or exploring a new bit of the reef, just fill your tank and go! As you'd expect from the home of the Camel Diving Safari - we're the only club in Dahab with this kind of service.
We also have to thank the SSRDP for helping us fund our Baby Bauer. Diving on a Camel Diving Safari brings people to remote Bedouin communities, and is part of our project to promote sustainable tourism in the Sinai. The European Union have helped us by funding our portable compressor - thank you!
Also a big thanks to Chris Battye who took most of these shots. Every year, Chris arrives with his dive club, www.battyeaboutdiving.co.uk, for a 6 day Camel Diving Safari. They're fun adventurous people, and this is the only way they dive the Red Sea - camping on the beach with the Bedouin, and diving empty sites full of pristine coral and fish life. The safaris have grown in popularity over the years, and this year Chris brought 21 divers with him! It took a lot of people to look after the group, and we all loved every minute of it.
