Scuba Diver
Scuba Diver is the first step on your way to being a fully qualified Open Water diver. It is half your Open Water course, and qualifies you to dive to 12m with a Professional Guide. You can complete the full Open Water qualification with any PADI Dive Center, whenever you’re ready!
Open Water
The single most popular diving course in the world! 4-5 days, fully qualifying you to dive to 18 metres. Learning to dive isn’t difficult, but like any activity worth doing, it requires some time and effort. There are 3 phases: Knowledge Development, Confined Water Dives and Open Water Dives:
- Knowledge Development: This teaches you the basic principles and procedures. You learn things like how pressure affects your body, how to choose the best gear and what to consider when planning dives. You complete Knowledge Development on your own, reading each of five sections of the PADI Open Water Diver Manual and watching the corresponding section of the PADI Open Water Diver Video (which also previews skills you’ll learn). You briefly review what you studied in each section with your instructor and take a short quiz to be sure you’re getting it. At the end of the course, you take an exam that makes sure understand all the key concepts and ideas.
- Confined Water Dives: This is what it's all about - diving. You develop basic scuba skills in the calm shallow conditions in front of the club. Here you'll learn everything from setting up your gear to how to easily get water out of your mask without surfacing. You'll also practice some emergency skills, like sharing air - just in case. There are five confined water dives, with each building upon the previous. Over the course of these five dives, you attain the skills you need to dive in open water.
- Open Water Dives: After your confined water dives, we move to the Open Water reef. This is where you have fun putting it all together and fully experience the underwater adventure - at the beginner level, of course.
- Prerequisites: 10 years for Junior Open Water Diver and 15 years for Open Water Diver. Good health, reasonable fitness and comfort in the water.
Open Water Referral
A "Referral" is when a student completes their academic and confined-water (pool) training at home, and then is referred to us for the Open Water dives. A referral course takes only 2 days. It's a popular way to learn to dive, as you get all of the 'homework' out of the way before your holiday, but save your Open Water dives for our warm clear tropical sea!

Open Water e-learning
The newest way to learn to dive! Now, you can do your theory over the internet, then come to us to complete your confined water skills and Open Water dives. It's a great option for people with busy schedules or who don’t have a local dive center nearby. Many families are also finding this a great option for Junior Open Water divers (10-14 yrs), as you complete the theory at your own pace from home.
