Climbing Sinai

Extend your climbing season! Sport, trad & bouldering on warm dry desert crags in the Sinai desert of Egypt... all winter long (October to April). Beginner & Advanced courses, guided climbs, group expeditions by camel... and new routes by the Hot Rock Team!

Climbing is the big new adventure in the Sinai, and we're very excited to be the first and only company developing this great sport. It's a fantastic way to discover and explore the desert. Perfect cracks & chimneys, golden slabs and vast areas of unclimbed lines. Climbing is on granite of all kinds: black, pink and white. You can find routes for all levels of climbers or preferences.

• If you're an absolute beginner, check out one-day try climbs or 2-day beginner courses. These are also suitable for children. 
• If you climb mainly indoor, our 1 day Inside Out course will help you make the transition to the outdoor environment.
• If you have some experience already, we have guided climbs including daytrips, overnight and deep desert expeditions by camel! 
• Or you can improve your skills with our Advanced Techniques course: Movement on Rocks
• Expert climbers can self-guide. We can brief you on the area, hook you up with a Bedouin guide and set you on your way!
  
• And if you have some spare time, come help us explore & open up new areas! Like the Hot Rocks Team just did!!

All grades proposed here are approximative and based on european scales. Bouldering grades are Font grades and sport routes French. Trad grades are English E numbers and UK technical grades. Please remember that just because you are off the beaten track here does not mean that standard climbing ethics cease to apply! Read more

For beginners of all ages, 1 day Try Climbs & 2 day Beginner Sport climbing courses. 'Inside Out' for indoor climbers making their first move to the outdoors. Wadi Gnai is just 20 mins drive from Dahab & the perfect starting point for climbing Sinai. It's the only place for sport climbing, plus fantastic bouldering at the top of the Wadi. Day trips & overnight - the best place for combining climbing with diving or freediving, or a nice warm-up for trad climbers heading to St Katherine. Read more
