For beginners of all ages, 1 day Try Climbs & 2 day Beginner Sport climbing courses. 'Inside Out' for indoor climbers making their first move to the outdoors. And our 'Movement on Rocks' course for experienced climbers who want to work on their climbing techniques. All courses take place in our 'outdoor classroom' - Wadi Gnai.
Try Climbs
Doing a try climb is a great way to experience the basics of climbing or to just have a day of fun on the desert mountains.
We provide all the equipment and knowledge you need to climb safely. All try-climbs are done with a toprope (climbing secured with a rope from the top) so there's no risk of falling. You will learn basic climbing skills and how to belay another climber.
Beginner Sport Climbing
The beginner course is for people who want to be able to do sportclimbing or toproping on their own. You don't need any previous experiences, just an adventurous mind. After finishing the course you will be able to sportclimb anywhere in the world.

Indoor/Outdoor differences
Picking a route
Use of holds
Lead belaying
Placing quickdraws
Clipping the rope
What to do at the top of the climb
All in 1 day at Wadi Gnai, then you can climb! climb! climb!
Movement on Rocks (Advanced climbing techniques)
Climbing is like vertical dancing - the more fluid you are, the better it looks and the easier it is. 'Movement on Rock' will help you 'dance' across the rock, using your legs to propel you and your arms to balance yourself from one graceful move to the next. No more snatching at the rock, feeling like your legs aren't going to hold you. Instead, you will learn how to make positive, delicate progress across rock that will help you, not fight against you.
Jenny Lord has been climbing for 15 years. She started at a young age, burning off all that extra energy in her local indoor wall. Within no time, she became a member of the wall’s youth team (the only girl!), and took part in a few competitions before realising that she far preferred climbing for herself, than competing. After two years in an office job (mostly time spent staring out the window), Jenny decided to leave that nice, safe, comfortable world and become a climbing instructor! Since then she’s trained thousands of climbers, doing everything from Try Climbs & Beginner courses to rope work, advanced techniques & training new instructors. SPSA Climbing Instructor, Outdoor First Aid & ML (summer) Trained.
If you ask Jenny what she loves about climbing after all these years, she’ll tell you that she loves the freedom she feels when she climbs, the focus it gives you (no time to dwell on anything else!), and the buzz of completing a route, whether it's a delicate slab or hard boulder problem. If you ask her what she loves about the Sinai, she’ll tell you how she fell head over heals for the Sinai's amazing combination of world-class adventure & laid back Bedouin life – in just 1 week. And that it was small miracle we were looking for a Climbing Instructor at exactly the same time!
Right after we met Jenny, we met Hazel! Having to & fro'd between the Lake District, Wales & Himalayas - and living in a van for most of her life! - she finally settled in to a flat in Sharm El Sheikh. Perfect for looking after all of our Sharm-based climbers. SPSA Climbing Instructor, Outdoor First Aid and ML (winter).
